Students began this project by considering how different elements of design express different feelings. Do bright or light colours express happy or positive feelings? Do rough, jagged shapes and lines express unhappy or negative feelings? Students learned that they could make individual decisions about elements of design to express feelings of their own choice.
Students planned their artwork on paper. They chose a feeling and selected elements of design that could be used to express that feeling. Then, each student painted their fish on to the mural wall with permanent paint.
