| In May, 2004, grade 2 students at Havenwood Public School in Mississauga worked together to create a colourful mixed-media collage. Each student created their own beautiful butterfly with pencil crayons and warm colours. As the students created patterns and designs they considered a variety of elements of design such as lines, shapes, textures, colours and space. The students created a background for the butterflies with cool colours. They used crayons and tissue paper to create interesting textures and effects. Each student can recognize their own butterfly within the group project. It was fun to create artwork together. |
