In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Whiteoaks Public School, 150 students in grades 4 and 5 participated in a mural making project. Each student designed and painted their own colorful oak leaf to add to an oak tree forest that lines their hallway. But this is no ordinary oak tree forest! Students used bright colours and imaginative patterns and designs to create a multitude of whimsical oak leaves. Students learned about elements of design and self-expression through visual arts in this project that aligns with the Ontario Visual Arts Curriculum.
