The library at Northwood Public School was decorated with a "northern woods" mural that includes many animals that are indigenous to Canada such as a moose, a deer, Canada geese, a beaver, a turtle, frogs, a rabbit, a cougar, an owl, wolves, a bear, bats, monarch butterflies and cardinals. The mural theme aligns with Ontario curriculum studies of Canada and habitat. The mural theme also includes a Blue Spruce tree and some Silver Birch trees, symbols that have been adopted for an enriching library reading program. The mural was designed to create a child-friendly, inspiring atmosphere for this important room that is used by all students at Northwood Public School. |
