In a curriculum aligned art activity, about eighty students in grade 6 enjoyed a mural making project to celebrate their completion of elementary school. Trees were painted on large panels that were mounted in the computer lab.

Using elements of design, including lines, shapes and colours, each student created non-representational artwork within the spaces created by overlapping branches. The designs and patterns painted by the students reflect rich and diverse creativity.

Using a carefully selected colour pallet, students received one-on-one instruction and demonstration as they painted and created artwork that was specifically suited for the computer lab at their school. The mural panels were completed with several whimsical bees that buzz through the trees.
