| Three murals were painted at St. Joachim Catholic School, each illustrating an important school value. Intermediate students participated by painting spaces in the blue background area. Using elements of design, including lines, shapes and textures, students created non-representational designs and patterns with the limited colour palette. Students practiced the principle of variety by choosing an assortment of elements of design within their space. The murals were a collaborative effort where the students painted spaces within the background and I painted everything else. All students enjoyed artistic success and can see how their contributions contribute to the overall success of the mural project. We had fun! |
