Students in grade 6 worked together to create a colourful mural for their school to mark the occasion of their graduation. Working in small groups, each student painted one hexagon, choosing a colour from a carefully selected colour palette. In this curriculum aligned visual arts activity, students learned painting techniques through explanations and one-on-one demonstrations. |

| A bee motif, adopted by Plum Tree Park Public School as their mascot, was repeated several times over the colourful beehive background. Valuable messages about anti-bullying were added in French and English. When completed, the students could recognized their valuable contributions to this successful visual arts project. Indeed, it was an opportunity to leave a small legacy as they prepared to move ahead to middle school. |
